The Wall Of Heroes Project

I love all photography and every photo I take is so special and I try to bring joy with each snap of the shutter.  Even with all the family photos, kid’s portraits, animal photos and so many great memories captured along the way, I was still searching for the meaning behind my photography, and now I found it!

Why I formed The Wall Of Heroes Project.

Our elderly veterans are wonderful treasures and they need to be recognized and never forgotten.  When they’re gone, we loose something so important and special.  My goal is to showcase our veterans and thank them for their service to our country and even more importantly, thank them for their wonderful stories… I can’t get enough of those stories!

Recently, this one gentleman who just turned one hundred years old rolled his wheelchair out to talk with me.  With a soft voice, he told me about his trials and tribulations from World War ll as a bomber pilot.  He said, one time, when his landing gear didn’t come down, he had to land his plane on its belly!  Another showed me the scar on his shoulder where he got hit by a bullet during combat.  Then there are those who talked about how beautiful it was while stationed in Okinawa, Australia and many other places.

You’re probably wondering how I’m going to try and achieve my goals for this project and what’s it all about?

It’s simple, I’m going to visit as many retirement homes and assisted living homes that I can and photograph the resident veterans.  From there, I will have photo prints made and then find a good spot for them to be displayed!  That’s where I got the name… The Wall Of Heroes Project!

So here’s how it works.

We will discuss how many veterans are living in the community and gather names.

Together, we will finalize what the prints will look like.  Those range from just photo prints to adding personalized frames.  5X7 photos have been very popular.

Now it’s time to schedule the photo session.

On the day of the photo session, your job will be to prepare each resident veteran, while my job will be to set up my equipment in the perfect spot.  Then it’s time to take some photos!  Each veteran will be in front of the camera for just a few minutes.  It’ll be quick and to the point.  I do, however, love to hear stories, so maybe a couple extra minutes for that!

After all the photos have been taken, I’ll edit them to perfection and then order the prints and frames.

Now, it’s time to design The Wall Of Heroes!  Don’t worry, I’ll take care of it all, from ordering and hanging the military branch seals to hanging each framed photo.  Everyone can just sit back, relax and watch The Wall Of Heroes develop.

Pricing

The photo sessions are FREE OF CHARGE.  The only costs to the home are for printing, framing and hanging the frames.  Also the extras, like military branch seals, American flags, etc are a separate charge.  Don’t worry, my prices for these items are minimal.  I don’t want money to get in the way of doing such a special thing for the veterans.  I will stay within your budget.  Please contact me for exact pricing

*Note… printing prices go down, the more veterans you have.

Thank you for reading about my project.  I look forward to working with you and all the fantastic veterans!!
